Designer. Illustrator. Artist.
Andrea has always been an introverted and creative soul. From a very young age she was praised by her teachers for her incredible artwork. Her middle school teacher told her she was going to be a graphic designer when she grew up (based on her over-the-top PowerPoint presentations). From that moment on she was dead set on what she was going to do with her life.
Andrea received her B.F.A. in Graphic Design from Iowa State University in 2013. She worked in the corporate world as a graphic designer for 10 years while juggling a wedding invitation business. Then she fell in love with surface pattern design in 2020. Shortly after, she felt a strong calling to express herself with abstract art. She found her way in the pattern and painting world by playing and experimenting daily.
She continues to juggle painting, designing pattern collections, and freelance graphic design on a daily basis. Oh and being a mom to 2 toddlers, 3 dogs, and 1 cat.
Andrea lives in Marion, IA with her husband, Keaton, and their two young daughters, Willow (3) and Sutton (1). You can usually find Andrea designing in a coffee shop, drawing on her iPad, or painting to music in her studio.

Artist Statement
"I find peace and infinite expression with abstract painting. My art is an exploration of the intricate interplay between connection and contrast, a harmonious dance that exists in life. With my work, I seek to evoke emotions, provoke thoughts, and create a space for contemplation.
My creative process is a fusion of my intuition and design background. I embrace the unpredictability of paint, allowing the colors to blend and textures to emerge organically. This approach enables me to channel the raw energy of creation while maintaining a good composition in the end.
Photography, florals, patterns, and bold color palettes are my inspiration. My artistic journey is a celebration of energy and depth, an endeavor to breathe life into themes that resonate with me, such as societal constructs, the allure of perfection, and mental health issues.
Just as light defines darkness, I use contrasting elements to accentuate the beauty and significance of connection. Through juxtaposition, I explore the richness of diversity, the threads that bind us, and the intricate stories that emerge when we come together.
I hope that my art inspires a renewed sense of curiosity, empathy, and wonder, encouraging all who encounter my paintings to embark on their own journey of self-discovery."
